King tweets congrats to UAE for hosting 2020 World Expo

AMMAN – His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday tweeted his congratulations to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after Dubai won the right to host the 2020 World Expo.
“We congratulate the #UAE for being selected to host the 'Expo 2020’. A source of pride for all Arabs,” the King said on the Royal Court Twitter account @RHCJO
Later on Thursday, the King sent a letter to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulating him over Dubai's win, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The King also called Sheikh Khalifa and his vice president, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the ruler of Dubai, to congratulate them.
On Wednesday night, Dubai was selected as the venue for the 2020 World Expo, beating the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, Yekaterinburg in Russia and Izmir in Turkey in a vote by members of the world fair body.
The Gulf commercial hub won the support of 116 out of 164 voting members of the Paris-based Bureau International des Expositions in a final-round run-off against Yekaterinburg. Dubai will be the first Middle Eastern city to host such an event.
His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday discussed prospects for further cooperation and the latest developments in the region in a telephone call with Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces.
Dubai won the right on Wednesday to host the 2020 World Expo, beating off competition from the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, Yekaterinburg in Russia and Izmir in Turkey in a vote by members of the world fair body.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) issued a reassuring message on Sunday about the health of President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan after he had surgery following a stroke, state media in the OPEC member Gulf Arab state reported.
