‘He made the world proud’
Feb 07,2015 - Last updated at Feb 07,2015
I want to express my deepest sympathy for the family of Muath Kasasbeh.
I watched the video several times because it appeared at first that Muath Kasasbeh had no idea what was about to happen. He just stood there. At the very last moment, just before the flames reached the cage, he raised his hands in prayer.
Then I realised he did know that his death was coming. He did two things during his last moments on earth. He prayed, and he also faced the horrors bravely and without flinching. He is the bravest human being I have ever seen.
He made his family proud, his King proud, his servicemen proud, his country proud, the entire world proud and, most important, he made God/Allah proud.
I am a mother, too. I feel his mother’s pain deeply. My tears and my prayers are all I can offer. I send hugs of warmth, love and comfort to his wife and his parents.
I weep with you. God bless you, good people.
