‘A little red man and a little green man’

Dec 07,2014 - Last updated at Dec 07,2014

Every morning on my way to work, I have to pass a very busy crossroad; the traffic moves fairly well and sometimes we even have some police to help the traffic along.

We only have one problem; beside the crossroad there is a teacher training college, and all the lovely young women come in groups, crossing from one side of the road to the other. They just cross, never raising their beautiful eyes upwards to see if the little man on the traffic light is red or green.

So many times the light changes to green, but we cannot drive because the ladies cross the road at a very leisurely pace.

It would be a lovely idea if our traffic department would explain the meaning of the little red man and green man, (maybe on television).

As there are rules and regulations for drivers, there are rules and regulations for pedestrians as well.

As the lovely young women are the future teachers of our children, it would be a great idea to explain to them that there are rules and regulations in life that one has to follow.

Sometimes I wonder why the traffic police do not explain to them; maybe they are too shy.
