‘Conflicts, occupation some of the obstacles facing women in the region’

By JT - Oct 10,2018 - Last updated at Oct 10,2018

AMMAN — The Union for the Mediterranean’s 14th conference kicked off on Wednesday in Lisbon, Portugal to empower Mediterranean women economically, socially and politically, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

An official Jordanian delegation and local civil society representatives participated in the conference.

Social Development Minister Hala Lattouf said that some of the challenges encountered by women in the Mediterranean include armed conflicts resulting in forced migration, in addition to the continuing Israeli occupation.

These conditions stand as obstacles to Palestinian women and their socioeconomic progress, the minister added.

YES, EVERY ONE CAN UNDERSTAND THAT ALL THE BLOW BACKS OF CONFLICTS AND OCCUPATION BUT TO SAY THAT IT IS THE REASON(S) WHY JORDANIAN WOMEN AND FOR THAT MATTER ALL THE WOMEN IN THE ARAB WORLD IS JUST A JOKE AND INSULT. WHEN WOMEN WERE NOT ALLOWED TO DRIVE, IT WAS NOT BECAUSE OF OCCUPATION OR CONFLICTS, WHEN JORDAN SHACKLED JORDANIAN WOMEN WITH RELIGIOUS LAWS AND PUNISH THEM BY MAKING THEM HALF OR LESS THAN A HALF CITIZENS, IT WAS N NEITHER OCCUPATION NOR CONFLICTS SO I THINK THAT NO ONE SHOULD POINT FINGERS TO ANY WHERE OR AT ANY ONE WITHOUT FIRST COMMING CLEAN ON THEIR OWN END.
