AMMAN — Employers do not have the right to delay the distribution of employees’ salaries for any reason, Labour Minister Samir Murad said on Sunday.
Murad said that private sector employees who do not receive their salaries on time have the right to submit a complaint to the Ministry of Labour, which will take appropriate legal measures against any violations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister said that delaying salaries for more than one week is against the law, adding that the law does not grant employers’ the right to delay payments because of financial circumstances.
