13 suspected drug traffickers arrested across Kingdom

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have apprehended 13 suspected drug traffickers carrying various quantities of narcotics, according to a statement issued by the Public Security Department on Sunday.

According to the statement, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, AND dealt with ten cases of selling and promoting narcotics in various governorates, during which the department arrested 13 suspected traffickers.

In one case, AND personnel seized 70 kilogrammes of cannabis and 50,000 Captagon pills which were hidden between rocks in a deserted area in Mafraq Governorate, the statement said, noting that search for the suspect is still underway.

Also in Mafraq, two traffickers were apprehended while selling narcotics in the street and the substances in their possession seized.

The Anti-Narcotics Capital Division has dealt with six other separate cases during which several raids were carried out on a number of houses in Amman, which were suspected to belong to narcotics dealers.
