AMMAN — The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) on Tuesday said it completed reviewing all contests on the preliminary voter lists.
The contestation period, which concluded last Tuesday, recorded a total of 24,116 contested voters, who constitute 1.05 per cent of the 2.23 million registered voters.
The IEC said that 16 per cent of the total contestations were accepted, while 84 per cent were rejected.
The statement said that the commission is now checking the decision to release the voter list to the public as soon as possible, noting that four sub-committees reviewed the contests.
The IEC said that people who do not agree with the IEC’s decisions can appeal at a court of first instance.
