AMMAN — Environment Minister Yaseen Khayyat on Saturday announced that Jordan has received a grant worth $3.5 million from the Montreal Fund, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The grant will fund the second phase of the national strategy to phase out ozone depleting substances in insulation and cooling industries.

The grant will help in disposing of 50 per cent of environment-harming substances and will contribute to developing the Jordanian industry by using eco-friendly technology, which will improve the competitiveness of the Kingdom’s products at local and international marketplaces.
