AMMAN — Twenty eight owners of stalls at the Abdali flea market pleaded not guilty on Thursday when their trial opened at the State Security Court (SSC).
The traders are charged with engaging in terrorist actions using weapons and combustible materials, in addition to committing acts that would harm the Kingdom’s relations with foreign countries and endangering public safety.
The suspects are also charged with lèse-majesté.
The SSC decided to adjourn the session to next Thursday to give the defendants time to hire attorneys.
