Abul Samin, UNICEF official discuss water services to Syrian refugees

AMMAN — Minister of Water and Irrigation Mahir Abul Samin and UNICEF Representative to Jordan Dominique Hyde on Monday examined means to boost cooperation to improve water and sewerage services for Syrian refugees in Jordan.
The two officials noted that the level of these services had improved at the Zaatari Refugee Camp and other areas hosting Syrian refugees.
Interior Minister Hussein Majali and UNICEF Representative in Jordan Dominique Hyde on Monday discussed the possibility of supporting the work of juvenile police units deployed at the camps for Syrian refugees.
UNICEF on Wednesday said the Japanese government made a $6 million contribution to its interventions supporting the growing numbers of Syrian refugees in Jordan.
Minister of Municipal Affairs and Minister of Water and Irrigation Mahir Abul Samin on Wednesday formed a committee to estimate the damage sustained by public properties during last week’s rain and snow.
