AMMAN — The Agricultural Credit Corporation (ACC) endorsed on Monday the allocation of JD47 million in 2019 as loans for farmers across the country.

Around 9,000 farmers in the ACC's branches across the country will benefit from the corporation's loans, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Ministery of Agriculture and Environment Ibrahim Shahahdeh, who is also ACC board chief, said that the corporation will continue scheduling due debts of farmers affected by the recent weather conditions, according to Petra.

During a board meeting on Monday, Shahahdeh said that the move aims at alleviating the damage and the financial losses farmers incurred as a result of the weather conditions and climate change, Petra reported.

To help in the Jordan Agriculture Engineers Association's efforts to find jobs for its members and improve their skills, Shahahdeh said that the ministry has approved increasing the number of trainee engineers from 14 to 20 as per the agreement it has signed with the syndicate.
