Agreement signed to provide training xin industrial sewing

AMMAN — Wadi Araba Development Company (WADC) and Sidney Apparels LLC (Sidney), in cooperation with the Employment Oriented Vocational Training for Skilled Crafts Project, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate training on Thursday.

According to the MoU, WADC, in cooperation with the GIZ's vocational training project, will train young women who wish to work in the field of industrial sewing under the direct supervision and support of Sidney Apparels, according to a statement made available to The Jordan Times.

The training will last six months and end with employment in the Sidney factory in Aqaba. The MoU was signed by WADC General Manager Yahya Majali and Sidney Apparels Chief Operating Officer Mohamed Ifthikar.

The signing of the MoU aims to improve the living conditions of young women in the Wadi Araba region.
