Ajloun education department employees begin strike

AJLOUN — Several grade three employees at the Ajloun Education Department on Thursday began an open-ended strike to demand financial benefits on an equal footing with employees at other ministries.
The protesters said they will continue their strike until their demands are met.
Ajloun Education Director Mahmoud Shihab met with the employees and promised to convey their demands to the Ministry of Education.
Jordan Customs Department (JCD) employees on Monday began an open-ended strike, bringing all cross-border commercial activity to a halt.
The Ministry of Labour on Sunday prevented an open-ended strike that workers at the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) had threatened to start on Monday.
Veterinarians working in the public sector said on Wednesday that they are continuing with their open-ended strike until their demands for higher salaries are met.
