Al-Ali appointed chair of Social Security Investment Fund

AMMAN — The Council of Ministers on Wednesday appointed Suhair Al-Ali as chairperson of the Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF) as of Thursday, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Al-Ali, who replaces Suleiman Hafez, was a three-time minister of planning and international cooperation in the governments of Adnan Badran (in 2005), Marouf Bakhit (2005) and Nader Dahabi (2007).
She also served as senator.
Al-Ali served as general manager and country officer of Citigroup in Jordan from 1996 until her appointment as Minister of Planning and International Cooperation in former Prime Minister Adnan Badran's government.
Before that, she was general manager of the Saudi American Bank Representative Office in New York from 1993.
Holder of a masters degree in development economics from Georgetown University, she began her career as Citibank as an executive trainee, undertaking several responsibilities before moving to New York in 1993.
