AMMAN — Prosecution at the State Security Court (SSC) on Tuesday released 10 of those arrested during the latest demonstrations and riots triggered by a government decision to remove fuel subsidies.
Brigadier General Muhannad Hijazi, prosecutor general of the SSC, noted that the protesters were freed on bail.
The release came in response to orders by His Majesty King Abdullah last week.
He added that the total number of people freed by Tuesday stood at 101.
Hijazi added that the prosecution office at the SSC would continue its investigation into cases involving 15 other people, who allegedly participated in acts of vandalism targeting public and private properties, before referring them to court.
