Amman, Irbid and Zarqa hold elections for Chambers of industry

AMMAN — The president of Zarqa’s Chamber of Industry’s board won uncontested in elections held on Saturday. Elections were held for the Amman, Irbid and Zarqa chambers of industry, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Votes for the other two chambers were still being counted by print time.
The polling took place at the headquarters of the chambers, where voter turnout reached 63 per cent by 3pm; Irbid’s chamber witnessed the highest turnout with around 76.44 per cent, while the lowest voter turnout rate was in Amman at nearly 50.62 per cent, and Zarqa with 61.88 per cent.1010 out of 1209 industrialists took part in the polling and elections, which were supervised by the Independent Election Commission for the first time.
