Arab League welcomes trilateral Cairo talks on Mideast

AMMAN — The Arab League has welcomed the statement issued by the tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan and Palestine held in Cairo last weekend, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Tuesday.
The secretary-general of the League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stressed the importance of continuing Arab consultations at various levels to reach a common vision on the Palestinian issue, especially in anticipation of the upcoming visits of the UN Secretary-General and the American delegation.
The upcoming meeting of the Arab League at the foreign ministers’ level, scheduled for September 12, will renew the countries’ support to the Palestinian issue, at the political, economic and social levels, Petra added.
