AMMAN — King’s Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben on Sunday met with Libyan army chief Gen. Khalifa Haftar and an accompanying delegation.
The two sides discussed developments in the region and military issues of mutual interest.
HRH Prince Feisal attended the meeting, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Zaben also met with Staff Maj. Gen. Pilot Abdullah Al Hashimi, executive director of strategic analysis at the UAE Ministry of Defence, and an accompanying delegation.
The two sides discussed relations between both countries' armies and issues of mutual interest, according to Petra.
Haftar has reportedly been in the country for a few days before meeting Zaben. The visit came as the internationally recognised Libyan government has been asking for Arabs’ help to lift an arms embargo imposed by the UN on the Libyan army, which is fighting extremist groups and rivals of the legitimate government.
