AMMAN — The Eastern Military Zone, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Department and the Military Security Department, on Friday foiled an alleged smuggling attempt by 13 people trying to cross the Syrian border, a source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said.
The military source said that the rules of engagement were applied, and that one of the suspects was killed during the operation, while the rest of them fled back into Syria, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Relevant security units searched the area where they found 476 palm-sized sheets of hashish and over 2.1 million drug pills, according to Petra.
