Associations raise JD350,000 for Syrian refugees

AMMAN — The Jordan Agriculture Engineers Association, the Jordan Engineers Association and the Jordan Pharmacists Association organised a fund-raising campaign to support Syrian refugees in the Kingdom.
The campaign, launched in cooperation with Hayat FM, raised JD350,000 in addition to in-kind assistance, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.
The Jordan Football Association (JFA) on Saturday slashed its estimates of financial contributions generated by a November 8 fund-raising telethon to support the national team.
Citizens donated more than JD600,000 in two days for a campaign organised by the Professional Associations Council (PAC) to raise JD1 million for Gaza, while similar efforts also reported success.
The National Goodwill Campaign, in cooperation with the Jordan Housing Developers Association, on Sunday distributed food aid to 350 families in the Nuzha and Jabal Hussein neighbourhoods in Amman.
