AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) cadres on Tuesday seized 14 kilogrammes of heroin found by police while monitoring the roads between Amman and Aqaba in the central region.
The Public Security Department said police attempted to stop the car in question for regular inspection but the driver refused to stop and threw a bag containing the drugs before speeding away.
An investigation is under way to identify the man and others involved in the case.
Meanwhile, AND staff on Tuesday foiled an attempt to smuggle 100 Captagon pills to a neighbouring country.
