AMMAN — Two people were killed and two were injured on Thursday in a car-lorry collision on Suweimeh-Dead Sea Road, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The traffic investigation committee attributed the cause of the accident to “lack of precautionary measures” by the lorry driver, according to Petra.
Personnel at the Central Military Zone, which has a nearby unit, administered first aid to the injured while waiting for the Civil Defence Department’s personnel to arrive at the scene.
Local news outlets identified the deceased as Nadim Gargour, 66, and his son Karim, 37. A US citizen, 40, who was in the Gargours’ company, was also reported to be in critical condition.
Nadim was a businessman and owner of the Mercedes-Benz dealership in the Kingdom. The lorry driver was reported to be a Sudanese national.
