AMMAN — The Cabinet on Monday discussed a number of articles related to a draft law regulating the Kingdom’s investment environment and doing business. Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh stressed the need to speed up the completion of the bill, to be referred to the Lower House as soon as possible, stressing that the draft law should focus on enhancing the competitiveness of Jordan’s economy, unifying investment laws, and put an end to bureaucratic procedures that hinder doing business, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The Council of Ministers also discussed the workflow and achievements of the committee charged to modernise the public sector, with the premier directing to prepare the committee's outputs within less than two weeks. The Cabinet also approved the mandating reasons for draft amendments related to the judiciary. These amendments came in implementation of recommendations of the Royal Committee to Modernise the Political System, notably improving the judicial system and enhancing the rule of law, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
