Canadian grant to fund hearing aid project

AMMAN — The Canadian Investment Fund on Sunday presented Canadian $50,000 to support the “Access Hear” hearing aid project being implemented by the Royal Scientific Society (RSS).
The grant was presented under an agreement signed between Canadian Ambassador in Amman Mark Gwozdecky and RSS Vice President Odeh Jayousi.
Launched in September, “Access Hear” started with a $300,000 USAID grant to enable people with hearing impairments to produce their own hearing aids according to high standards.
HRH Prince Raad, Chief Chamberlain, on Thursday inaugurated a factory for manufacturing hearing aids at the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) headquarters.
The EU on Tuesday unveiled a 3.9 million euro project to strengthen the capacities of the relevant authorities in Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon in dealing with chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) hazards.
Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Mark Gwozdecky visits the King Abdullah I University Hospital on Wednesday.
