AMMAN — The coalition of civil society organisations on Tuesday published a letter on the US decision to halt its UNRWA funding, which the alliance will send to UN Secretary General António Guterres through the agency’s office in Amman.
Member organisations stressed that they look at the US decision from a political point of view, rather than financial or administrative, which threatens the rights of Palestinians to their national soil, especially under Washington’s so-called “deal of the century” plan, according to a coalition statement.
The alliance added that the decision will hurt the lives of 5 million Palestinian refugees, including 2 million in Jordan, and will cause humanitarian, economic and social crises.
