AMMAN — A cold air front is forecast to start affecting the Kingdom on Tuesday, bringing temperatures six degrees below their annual average for this time of the year, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

As a result, it will be cloudy in most regions with chances of scattered showers in the central and northern parts of the country, a meteorologist told The Jordan Times Monday.

"Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, raising dust in the badia. We warn against low visibility, especially in desert areas," Jamal Najjar said.

On Thursday, Temperatures are expected to range between a maximum of 22°C and minimum of 13 °C, Najjar added.

A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Wednesday, while mercury levels will remain below their annual average of their time of the year, according to the meteorologist.

"It is expected to be fair in mountainous areas and warm in Aqaba, Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea," he noted, adding that temperatures are forecast to range between 25°C and 16°C in hilly areas.

In the seaport city of Aqaba, he said temperatures are expected to record a high of 32°C during the day and a low of 18°C during night on Tuesday.
