AMMAN — A committee formed to oversee the implementation of the national strategy for the elderly on Tuesday held a meeting to discuss the latest developments of its executive plan.
Fadel Hmoud, the secretary general of the National Council for Family Affairs, said the strategy was the result of the joint effort of many institutions interested in the elderly.
Khadijeh Alawin, member of the council, said data from the Department of Statistics showed that the elderly constituted 5.2 per cent of the population in 2013.
