AMMAN — The Ministry of Health has decided to reopen comprehensive health centres in the capital on Sunday to receive patients through the Civil Defence Department (CDD), Director of the Amman Health Directorate Naif Ziben said on Thursday.
Under the decision, the health centres will not receive patients arriving in private vehicles, in order to limit contact and keep patients safe, Ziben said in a statement to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
He noted that 26 comprehensive health centres in Amman, in addition to five primary health centres that have been approved in other areas of the city with high population densities, will begin receiving patients from 8am to 4pm.
Comprehensive health centres’ medical staff on Tuesday began delivering medication to patients with chronic illnesses that are included in their databases, the statement added.
Also on Thursday, the Irbid Health Directorate said that it designated 15 comprehensive and primary health centres in several districts to resume work on Thursday morning. The centres are receiving patients through the CDD and the directorate’s ambulances when necessary, Petra reported.
