AMMAN — The Jordanian Expatriates Conference 2015, which was held at the Dead Sea last week, concluded with several recommendations, urging expatriates to invest in Jordan and calling for eliminating obstacles that might face investors.
Participants commended the Royal initiatives and directives towards achieving comprehensive reform, modernisation and sustainable development.
They called for eliminating obstacles that might face investors —Jordanians and non-Jordanians — by providing more incentives and facilitating new companies’ registration procedures.
Moreover, they urged industrialists to invest in Jordan and suggested the establishment of an investment fund.
They called for promoting Jordanian products through the country’s diplomatic missions and suggested the opening of new markets for local products.
In addition, they recommended promoting projects set up in the villages which are rich in heritage, utilising traditional industries as a means to develop local communities.
Participants thanked His Majesty King Abdullah for attending the conference and commended the efforts of the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, lauding the country’s security and political stability.
Some 650 Jordanian expatriates from 62 countries attended the conference, with representatives of the private and the public sectors, and Jordan’s diplomatic missions also among the participants.
