AMMAN — The Court of Cassation on Monday cleared the Centre for Defending Freedom of Journalists (CDFJ) of charges brought by the Public Prosecution, a CDFJ statement sent to The Jordan Times said.
The court also overturned a decision by the Amman Court of First Instance to imprison the Centre’s CEO Nedal Mansour for one year and fine him JD1000, in addition to a JD200 fine for the centre.
Mansour described the court ruling as “just” and supportive of civil society organisations.
