AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Wednesday visited the Bahrain Royal Guard Command.

Bahrain Royal Guard Commander Maj. Gen. Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Commander of the Royal Guard Special Force Lt. Col. Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as well as a number of senior officers, received the Crown Prince, a Royal Court statement said.

Sheikh Nasser noted the historical ties between Jordan and Bahrain, highlighting military cooperation and Jordan’s role in the establishment of the Bahrain Defence Force, thanking His Royal Highness for visiting the Bahrain Royal Guard.

During the visit, the Crown Prince was briefed by Sheikh Nasser on the role and duties of the Bahrain Royal Guard.

Crown Prince Hussein, Sheikh Nasser and Sheikh Khalid also participated in a counterterrorism exercise conducted by Royal Guard Special Force personnel, according to the statement.

The Crown Prince praised the Bahrain Royal Guard’s advanced level and Sheikh Nasser’s efforts to enhance their operational readiness.

Earlier in the day, the Crown Prince, accompanied by Sheikh Isa Bin Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, visited the Economic Development Board in Manama.

During the visit, Crown Prince Hussein was given a brief by Economic Development Board Chief Executive Khaled Al Rumaihi on Bahrain’s experience in promoting investment opportunities and the role of the board, which was established in 2000, in stimulating the private sector and facilitating investments.

His Royal Highness praised the Economic Development Board’s role in promoting Bahrain’s economy, supporting emerging enterprises and empowering youth, highlighting the importance of exchanging expertise between the two countries in this regard, according to the statement.

Jordan’s Ambassador to Bahrain Rami Wreikat accompanied the Crown Prince during the visit.
