AMMAN — Culture Minister Haifa Najjar and UNESCO Representative in Jordan Min Jeong Kim on Sunday discussed means to boost ties between the sides. Najjar said that the ministry is setting a legislative framework to regulate the cultural work in Jordan to become a platform to establish sustainable partnerships, support entrepreneurship and creativity, and develop productive cultural industries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The minister also praised UNESCO’s efforts in realising sustainable development in all fields including at the cultural level, voicing the ministry’s keenness to further enhance partnerships with international organisations. The UNESCO official stressed that Jordan is "a reliable partner", especially in the cultural field. She noted that that the UN organisation has a joint plan with the ministry to translate what has been included in the national plan for the intangible cultural heritage into programmes and training workshops, the first of which will be held in February in Irbid.
