AMMAN — The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Jordan River Foundation on Tuesday signed an agreement to implement a project on rationalising the use of energy.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Alaa Batayneh said the agreement is in implementation of Royal directives to support national efforts to reduce energy consumption.
The agreement seeks to raise awareness among local communities across the Kingdom on the importance of reducing energy consumption, Batayneh noted.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Alaa Batayneh on Monday said the government is serious about rationalising energy consumption and reducing expenses to address the budget deficit.
In cooperation with media institutions, the government is preparing a campaign to raise public awareness on the importance of reducing electricity and fuel consumption.
A three-month campaign began this week to encourage households to install solar photovoltaic systems to generate electricity at home, which will significantly reduce the country’s energy bill.
