AMMAN — A depression centred over Cyprus will affect Jordan on Friday, and temperatures are expected to drop slightly, according to a Jordan Metrological Department (JMD) statement.

The northern and middle regions of the Kingdom should expect showers, the department said, adding that heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and floods are expected at times.

Light rain is also expected over limited areas of the eastern region, said the JMD, adding that rainfall would likely decrease at night as weather tends to stabilise.

South-western Jordan is also expected to receive moderate to strong winds in Badia.

Temperatures in some regions will increase on Saturday, while remaining cold in most of the country. Temperatures are expected to be moderate in Ghor, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Fog is also expected to form over heights and Badia, the report said.
