Development bank approves loan to Madaba Municipality

AMMAN — The Cities and Villages Development Bank on Saturday approved a JD50,000 loan to Madaba Municipality and rejected loan requests from other financially troubled municipal councils.
The loan requests worth JD614,000 were submitted by Muath Bin Jabal and Taybeh municipalities in Irbid Governorate and Kufranjah Municipality in Ajloun Governorate to implement road construction projects and cover their financial obligations to the Social Security Cooperation.
Three days since the start of the registration process for municipal elections slated for the second half of December, 245,000 new voters have listed their names in the electoral lists in all governorates except Amman, official figures showed.
The Council of Ministers on Thursday discussed the mandating reasons for adopting draft laws on municipalities governorate councils.
The Ministry of Public Sector Development launched on Tuesday the third phase of its Innovation and Excellence Fund competition and announced its second phase winners.
