AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) carried out a series of raids on suspected drug dealers in Northern Badia and foiled the attempted smuggling of 450,000 narcotic pills hidden inside a vehicle in the south of the Kingdom.

AND personnel arrested three suspects who each possessed different quanties of drugs, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday. One of the suspects was arrested during a raid on a house, with 12 palm-sized sheets of hashish, a firearm, 39,000 Captagon pills and 2,000 other pills, found in his possession. Investigations were begun into all suspects in order to refer them to court, Petra added.
