AMMAN — The Zaatari Refugee Camp on Thursday received new trailers and heaters provided by Egypt. Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan Khaled Tharwat visited the camp, near Mafraq, to supervise the delivery of the aid.
The ambassador said Egypt was committed to assisting its Arab neighbours despite the difficult economic conditions it is currently going through, commending Jordan’s hospitality and efforts to serve Syrian refugees.
No injuries or major incidents took place in the Zaatari Refugee Camp during the snowstorm, the UNHCR said Sunday.
Brig. Gen. Wadah Hmoud, director of the Syrian refugee camps administration, on Sunday said that work is under way to secure a total of 8,000 trailers for the Syrian refugees at the Zaatari camp in Mafraq in cooperation with the UNHCR and other international organisations.
The United Arab Emirates on Thursday reiterated its commitment to assisting Syrian refugees in the Kingdom in close cooperation with the government and international relief agencies.
