Egyptian diplomats meet with labourers in Tafileh

TAFILEH — A mission from the Egyptian consulate in Jordan on Monday met with a group of Egyptian workers in Tafileh and listened to their needs and demands.
During a meeting with Tafileh Governor Hashem Sheim, Egyptian Consul in Aqaba Mohammad Alawi said the meeting with Egyptian expatriates in the governorate seeks to check on their conditions, highlighting the importance of enhancing cooperation between Jordan and Egypt.
A team from the Foreign Ministry headed by Ambassador Rasim Hashem on Thursday met with Jordanian expatriates in Madrid in the presence of Jordan’s Ambassador to Spain Ghassan Majali.
Around 200 workers at the Tafileh Technical University on Sunday held a sit-in protesting unfulfilled demands.
Several ministries and public departments on Sunday began procedures to recruit 163 unemployed young men from Tafileh Governorate, in accordance with directives from Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh.
