AMMAN — The Education Ministry established eight schools in the Zaatari Camp for Syrian refugees in the last academic year, bringing the total number of schools in the camp to 24, the government human rights coordinator, Basel Tarawneh, said on Saturday.

Discussing a report on the ministry’s work to guarantee the right of education, Tarawneh said four schools have been established in Mreijeb Al Fhoud camp and another four in Azraq camp.

He added that 3,870 teachers at schools in camps and night schools have received training in teaching methodologies and psycho-social support, noting that 145,458 Syrian students were registered in the Kingdom’s schools by the end of the 2015/2016 academic year.
