AMMAN — The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) has delivered the final voter lists to the sorting and voting committees to every ballot centre across the Kingdom.
IEC Spokesperson Hussein Bani Hani stressed that all the measures taken by the IEC are aimed at combating vote buying, pointing out that the executive instructions regulating the elections give the heads of sorting and voting committees the power to prevent any person who tries to impersonate others from voting.
He noted that the instructions also prohibit the use of mobile phones inside voting centres.
Over 7,000 observers and 1,600 journalists are expected to observe Wednesday's parliamentary elections, Independent Elections Commission (IEC) President Abdul Ilah Khatib said on Friday.
Independent Elections Commission (IEC) Spokesperson Hussein Bani Hani on Sunday said the sorting and voting committees at each ballot centre will comprise six members, who will supervise the voting process and ensure that it is in accordance with the law.
The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) on Tuesday announced a plan to train staff on the sorting and counting of ballots.
