AMMAN — The Ministry of Environment on Sunday announced the start of the electronic tracking of tankers carrying wastewater project in the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Minister of Environment Nayef Fayez said that the ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, has completed the processing of 400 tankers across all governorates by installing electronic tracking devices to monitor their movement around the clock to ensure unloading at the allocated places.
In a statement released Sunday, Fayez said that the coordination with the administrative rulers and environmental managers in the governorates is under way to follow up on the system so as to reduce the random dumping of wastewater, which causes pollution and the spread of insects. The ministry continues to complete the programme in order to cover all tankers in the Kingdom by the end of July, he added.
