Elephant tusks, firearms seized in house raid

AMMAN — Preventive Security Department’s personnel have confiscated two elephant tusks and unlicensed firearms during a raid on a house, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday. The one-metre-long tusks were referred to experts, who confirmed their authenticity.
The tusks are illegal to be traded according to CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora). The confiscated materials and the suspects will be referred to the judiciary.
