Ensour, Canadian minister discuss region, ties

AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday met with Canadian Minister of Public Safety Vic Toews and discussed bilateral ties and means to further enhance cooperation.
The premier commended the level of cooperation between Jordan and Canada.
The two officials also examined the latest regional developments, particularly the Syrian crisis and its impact on the region.
Ensour highlighted services Jordan provides to Syrian refugees, which impose a burden on the Kingdom’s already scarce resources.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Awad Khleifat on Monday met with Canadian Public Safety Minister Vic Toews and discussed the latest regional developments, particularly the Syrian crisis.
Prime Minister Samir Rifai on Thursday discussed with President of the Canadian Treasury Board Vic Toews prospects for furthering bilateral ties.
Lower House Speaker Saad Hayel Srour on Thursday met separately with Lebanese and Tunisian ambassadors in Amman and discussed bilateral ties and prospects for further cooperation.
