‘Environmental degradation costing Jordan JD300,000 annually’

AMMAN — The annual cost of environmental degradation in Jordan stands at around JD300,000, Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature President Khalid Irani said Sunday.

At a discussion session organised by Amman Capital Rotary and Amman West clubs, Irani, who is also a senator, said environmental threats include water scarcity and household waste, which continues to increase due to the growing population.
