Environmental group launches campaign to raise awareness on risks of lead

AMMAN — The Jordan Environment Society on Sunday launched a campaign for preventing lead poisoning in Iraq Al Amir, funded by the World Health Organisation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
MP Wasfi Haddad, chairman of the tourism and antiquities committee, stressed the importance of such campaigns to raise awareness on the risks of lead to humans.
Haddad said that the committee recommended a set of suggestions concerning tourism and a clean environment to achieve sustainable development.
He also added that the campaign will last until October 27, noting that certain activities will be conducted to spread awareness on preventing lead poisoning at home, in the street or at school.
