AMMAN — The Design Thinking Challenge, a three-year challenge in partnership with Orange Jordan, SAM Engineering and Endeavour Jordan to create a space dedicated to promote innovation and digital economy in Jordan, has been launched in cooperation with the private sector.

This challenge aims to encourage youth and equip them with designing thinking skills; an important methodology to deal with change management, problem-solving, strategic planning and services development focusing on three key fields, whereas five challenges were launched in growth skills, five challenges in digital skills and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, in addition to five more challenges in programing or tech-based skills, according to an Orange Jordan statement.

One winner will be selected from the three fields for the first year to win JD7,500, granted by Orange Jordan and the EU.

The EU, in partnership with Orange Jordan, SAM Engineering, and Endeavour Jordan, aims to train 1,000 participants in design thinking theories and practical application during the project’s execution in partnership with SAM engineering, the statement said.

As part of its continuous support for education, training youth, and upskilling their educational and practical capacity, Orange Jordan seeks through this new challenge to enhance the participants’ design thinking skills to provoke their creativity in the various digital fields. By doing so, it aims to empower the Kingdom’s youth and encourage their effective participation in the digital economy to develop solutions that are in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, read the statement.

The EU funded Innovation Space, a pioneering initiative in Jordan and a one-stop-shop for digital innovation and entrepreneurial support, aims to introduce digital culture to the wider Jordanian public, foster digital skills, especially among women and youth, and promote and nurture entrepreneurship by identifying key opportunities for digital economic growth, according to the statement.
