AMMAN — The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation(AECID) has selected a consortium of four Spanish NGOs to implement a new project in Madaba Governorate, according to an AECID statement released this week.
The project, to be launched on June 14, aims to alleviate the adverse effects of the Syrian crisis by improving living conditions of Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in Madaba, 30km southwest of Amman.
The project is in line with the Management Plan for Spanish Development Cooperation 2013-2016 and with the Humanitarian Strategy.
Each of the four Spanish NGOs and their respective local partners will equip and commission physical and psychosocial support centres; provide support for technical and therapeutic assistance for people with disabilities and their relatives; facilitate access to protection in cases of gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health services.
