AMMAN –– Public Sector Development Minister Khleef Al Khawaldeh on Monday attended the launch of the fourth training course that seeks to build the capacities of public sector middle managers.

According to a ministry statement, 30 public sector employees are participating in the six-week programme, which is implemented in cooperation with the USAID-funded Fiscal Reform II Project (FRP II).

Khawaldeh said investment in human resources is a government priority to enhance the performance of the public sector, said the statement.

FRP II Chief of Party Roberto Toso said the participants and government institutions will benefit from the programme as graduates are expected to use the skills and expertise they gain in improving the work of their organisations, according to the statement.

Trainees will receive 100 hours of training in areas such as strategic planning and human resources management.
