AMMAN — The general doctors society at the Jordan Medical Association on Saturday launched a national study, in cooperation with the Jordanian Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Co., to measure fat and cholesterol levels among citizens aged over 20 year.
Blood samples are scheduled to be taken from 1,200 citizens nationwide this week through six medical centres and clinics participating in the study, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Mahmoud Hashem, director of the society, said that citizens who offered blood samples benefited from free medical tests to measure blood pressure and diabetes levels, as well as fat and cholesterol levels, which are the number one cause for deaths in Jordan and the world.
