AMMAN — The Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology (JISM) referred the owner of eight fuel tankers to court on Tuesday.
JISM Director General Haydar Zaben said the institution had also referred three gas distributors to court for violations. Zaben added that JISM staff inspected 835 gas cylinders and destroyed 64 invalid taxi meters.
He noted that the institution also carried out inspection campaigns to check on electricity and water meters.
The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) closed down 12 food outlets last week for violating public health and safety regulations.
The Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology (JISM) is carrying out inspection campaigns on shops selling fireworks and firecrackers in the country, JISM Director General Haydar Zaben said on Sunday.
Adulterated petrol can now be detected in minutes under new measures adopted by the Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology (JISM) in cooperation with the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC), facilitating the work of inspection teams.
